Start your nonprofit on solid ground, with words that carry your mission
Every strong nonprofit starts with a clear purpose and the right legal structure. We help Minnesota founders define the mission, form the organization, file for tax-exempt status, and write the proposals that open doors.
MBMC is not a law firm or CPA firm. We prepare and organize your filings and coordinate with your attorney or accountant for legal opinions and tax advice, or refer you to one.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to become a 501(c)(3)?
Minnesota incorporation is usually quick. IRS review is the longer step and the timing varies, with Form 1023-EZ applications often decided faster than the full Form 1023. We help you file a complete application so it isn't delayed by missing information.
Do we need a board before we incorporate?
Yes. A Minnesota nonprofit corporation needs at least three directors. We help you think through who should serve, and our board and leadership support can help you recruit.
Can you write an RFP response or proposal for us?
Yes. We can write the full response, or coach your team and edit your draft. Either way, we make sure it follows the funder's instructions exactly.
